Whose glory?

Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your name give glory, for the sake of Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness! Psalm 115:1

Glory is such an innate desire and craving for me, isn’t it? That was the original sin - desire for glory that only God deserves. I fight it still today. That hunger, that craving, that lust, that scheming, that pursuing - of and for glory that is not mine, will never be mine. And since I fail to achieve that glory, I feel like a failure.

But when I pursue God’s glory for His name’s sake, there I find joy. When I crave for God’s glory to be the filling of me, there I find fulfillment. When I plan (not scheme) for God’s glory to be my uppermost desired result in all that I do, there I find true purpose for my life.

I find my purpose in giving Him glory. So may it continue to be so…
